Read a Newsgroup

Need some Information that you can just browse at you're whim?

Newsgroups, one of the oldest forms of communication on the Net. As the name implies it's a list of groups that people can post new, or discussions into. Unfortunately they are not well regulated. So there are some businesses, who own "private" news organizations. Such as Dejanews, Delphi, and Wisewires.

Newsgroups for online learning include;
    uk.comp.training
    alt.education.business
    alt.training.technology
    ncsc.training
    bit.listserv.nettrain
    alt.education.distance
    dejanews.comm.techlearn.dialogue
    alt.education.distance

There are important computer discussions happening around the clock (you'll be entertained if not educated).   Feel free to join in at any time.

Basic news groups, the originals, are usually available upon subscription to you're ISP (Internet Service Provider). You're ISP should give you information on how to reach you're local NNTP Server or Newserver. Usually the server will have an address like, news.domain.com.

NOTE: Not all ISP's have this information, some do not give it out right away, and only give it if requested. Some ISP's do not offer this service.

FURTHER NOTE: Since Newsgroups can have some gray areas on the legal side, such as porn, hacking information, and other information that could be unsuitable to minors, some ISP's feel it's their right, or necessity to Filter out Newsgroups. That means that they might not offer all Newsgroups available by restricting their users to the ones that they want them to see.

I'm trying to fix this list. For now you just have the titles.. as you can see below. If anyone has any better ideas on how to repair this problem please tell me! Thanks!
