Strictly talking in a non-conformative sense you are "meeting with them". This rests aside from "geek conventions" or expose. Things of that nature. "Geeks" as they are fondly called, even in some cases by themselves have their own cliques, guilds, organizations, companies etc. Collectives of "Hive-Like Minds" where one common goal or a common variant is ensued, like OS organizations, or Hackers Guilds.

Take the Geek Test to see if you are qualified to even venture into the following websites;

HTML Guild the HTML guild is basically just a simple, well not entirely simple group of people who's primary purpose is to further their studies in HTML. DHTML Guild, DHTML is almost a counterpart of HTML. DHTML resides within HTML, it's known as Dynamic HTML. DHTML isn't as fluid as its new counterpart which is taking the Web community by storm, XML (eXtensible Markup Language). But it's still more advanced than HTML (Any and All Versions).

W3C. The W3C or World Wide Web Consortium, is the backdrop of HTML. The W3C is the standard bearer for companies that make Browsers and people who write scripts for webpages. Since HTML isn't a programming language it needs a non-programmable medium, one accepted by all. At the W3C you can find information on the latest pieces of technology or links to places like VRML, MathML, and other Languages that would help you build a better site, or even us!

JavaScript's. JavaScripts as the name implies is a collective based on the JavaScript Scripting Language. JavaScript was initially developed by Netscape (and it's counterpart JScript by Microsoft) as a derivative to Sun's Object Oriented programming language, Java. JavaScript takes the differences between HTML and Java and adds a medium that allows for better interfacing and a better page, without all the hassles of having to fully incorporate or embed a Java applet. In some cases though, if you wan a specialized webpage, just JavaScript and HTML isn't necessarily enough.
